It was a beautiful tote bag, handwoven with bright, abstract patterns.

"I know you love totes. I made sure I got you the best one I found," she beamed.

Always showering me with gifts, my friend truly is a rare gem.

"This is so pretty, thank you," I said while hugging her.

My cellphone buzzed. It's always on silent, but the vibration was on. I looked down. A mutual friend had sent me CCTV footage of a theft at a local handicraft store. I watched silently. My eyebrows lowered, and a frown followed. I sighed, looked up and handed the tote bag back to her.

"We can't be friends anymore."
